Here I am with the entire Beat-the-Heat Ride 2009 crew. We had a great time!
This is me in Lordsburg, NM. It was my first time in NM and I really liked it. I was just hanging around while everyone else ate breakfast at Kranberry's
Shortly after our breakfast stop we stopped again in Deming, NM. This place was really cool too. By the looks of this map, Deming is the gateway to everywhere in New Mexico. And look it even leads to my home town, Tucson.
I guess these people were famous in these parts. Lots of people were getting their pictures taken here so I figured - Hey, another photo op! I'm so cute
Miss Becky (Becky Sangster) helped me sign the Deming visitor's log. I was all thumbs and was having a hard time holding the pen.
See I really did sign the visitor's log
I met another new friend on the trip to Tulsa. This is Froggy, mascot and guardian for Dave & Dee Gormley - Ribbet or shoud I say "On the road again"
These are my new human friends. This is Bud and Dot Kapp. They are the 2009/2010 Arizona District Couple of the Year (aka - COY). Hey, I only hang with the rich and famous (OK, maybe just famous)
When we got to Ruidoso, NM I was allowed to hang out at the pool and relax in my new purple bikini. And, I have matching purple flip flops.
Yes, I am chillin' out. How do you like my purple bikini?
I think I was talking to my agent when this picture was taken. I never get any privacy - can I get some sun screen please!
Yes, I am special! So special that I was taken on historic and famous US Route 66 in Oklahoma. The price on this old antique gas pump reads $1.15 per gallon. I think that was before my time.
I met this handsome cowboy and his trusty pony in Oklahoma at the Embasy Suites hotel, they even made a welcome sign for me and all my GWRRA friends. We chilled out together during happy hours - Yaah Hoo!
This is me with Uncle Ron Penner. I was thirsty after the long ride to Tulsa and Uncle Ron offered me a sip of his refreshment
Here I am with the Arizona contingent during opening ceremonies. It was my very first Wing Ding opening ceremony. Leota Ryen from AZ-G & A was making sure I could see all the festivities
Yes, I'm so cool. I was honored to hang out with Uncle Bob Ryen who is also from AZ-G & A. How do you like me in Bob's shades, I felt like a rock star! And, check it out--I'm wearing my Arizona t-shirt.
Not only did I travel all the way to Oklahoma, Oh no, I also made a side trip to Arkansas and and Ozark mountains
Peek a boo - I feel at home in this tree
We had the best meal of our entire trip at Grandma's House in Winslow, Arkansas. They even had pie. Yum.
Here I am with the antique furniture at Grandma's House. The only thing missing is crumpets and tea.
I went to the Buddy Holly Center in Lubbock TX. He is their "home boy." Rock on.
The Buddy Holly Center also houses Buddy's famous glasses.
I'm helping Buddy Holly play the guitar. What a great way to greet the sun on the road.
This is the Walk of Fame. Many people have been inducted into the Walk of Fame, among them Buddy Holly and Waylon Jennings. May be I should get a plaque next?
Look Ma, no hands!!!
Bears are very reveered in Cloudcroft, New Mexico. There are several statues throughout town of my relatives.
Here is another bear statue--looks like he's giving me a cranial massage.
I visited the White Sands National Monument in New Mexico. It was very interesting and I met some nice people.
Here I am writing with Elizabeth and Smitty. It was exciting to ride on the bike, instead of in the trunk, for a change.
This is what the dunes of the White Sands look like. It was very hot and bright, but I loved it.
Look close and you can see my footsteps in teh white sand. Small steps for Kodie and giant leap for mascotkind.
