Geb and Christy Bailey
|
Geb & Christy started riding a Gold Wing in 1989. Their first Gold Wing was a 1986 Gold 1200; then a 1995 White 1500, and a 1999 white 1500 (their first trike conversion). They currently ride a 2005 cherry red 1800 trike, which has about 34,000 miles on it. Christy is not only a co-rider, but a rider! Way to go Christy!!! They attended their first GWRRA meeting in 1991 and attended their first Wing Ding in Albuquerque, NM. They have traveled to many more Wing Dings and rally's all over the country. Prior to being the 2009 Chapter A COY, they have worn many “hats” - Assistant Chapter Directors, Rally Coordinators, Ride Coordinators, Phone Tree Coordinators, Membership Coordinators, and Phone Tree Callers. They have participated in Motorcycle Awareness activities promoting “Look out for Motorcycles.” Their favorite scenic ride is the Colorado Rockies, which they try to ride as often as possible, especially the route between Durango to Silverton to Ouray, which is just gorgeous. Geb and Christy met while at a sock hop when Christy was 14 years old and Geb was a junior in high school. The following weekend they went to a basketball game at the high school and started going together - never dating anyone else. Geb went off to Colorado State University while Christy went to high school, got engaged and married on June 17, 1962 - 10 days after Christy’s high school graduation. They enjoy riding the bike, they are league bowlers and their most treasured possession is their Boston Terrier, Captain. They have been married 48 years and have two married sons and seven grandchildren that all live here in Tucson. |
