Both have lived in Arizona since 1971. Transferred from Sierra Vista to Tucson in 1980. Dennis started riding motorcycles in 1957; Chapter AZ-A COY 2002.
They met in 1975 when both worked for Mountain Bell Telephone Co, Dennis lived in Sierra Vista and Debbie lived in Phoenix. Theirs was a telephone romance for several months until they actually met. Dennis has three children and five grandchildren from his first marriage. After marrying in 1976, Debbie worked civil service with the Army, Air Force and Air National Guard. In 1985, Dennis accepted a management buyout from Mountain Bell and purchased their own printing business; Debbie left the federal government in 1988 to join him in the business where they still work together (and print the chapter newsletter). They’ve helped create flyers for various chapter functions and Toys for Kids; created invitations for Chapter As 25th & 30th birthday celebrations; created signs for 2002 AZ-A P pioneer Jamboree and District Rally; and created the shirt graphic design for District Rally
Dennis was riding a black 1966 Moto Guzzi, purchased in 1973, when in 1977; they purchased their first Gold Wing, a 1976 burgundy Honda 1000. In 1979 they attended their first motorcycle rally, Aspencade, in Ruidoso, NM. They joined GWRRA and Chapter A in May 1999 after purchasing their white 1500 SE.
Debbie has been a caller with the chapter Phone Tree since 2001; she organized and ordered the mauve shirts for chapter members in 2002. Dennis is currently a Ride Captain and served as Arizona District Treasurer 2002. They are both Masters and enjoy tours on the motorcycle through Montana, Colorado and Tennessee (The Dragon). In 2000 accomplished Bun Warmer Iron Butt Ride for Dennis - Tucson to Houston (Debbie prefers to fly and ride).
They are active in the community as Neighborhood Watch Leaders and president of their neighborhood
association. They currently foster collies with Southwest Collie Rescue. Years ago, Dennis had a commercial pilot’s license, but now prefers to fly on his wing!
